What is the cost for private pay?

Oxnard Family Circle ADHC starts at $79.00 per day, providing many unique senior care services that are not available in in-home care. This low cost includes transportation, meals, therapy services, personal assistance services, and meetings with social workers, nurses, and podiatrists.

Are there options to help me with the costs?

Those who have Medi-cal insurance or  Veterans enrolled in the VA health system may qualify for the program with no out-of-pocket cost to them. We also accept some long term care insurance.

May I visit The Oxnard Family Circle?

Visitors are always welcome.  In fact, we encourage you to take a tour, as well as take advantage of a FREE ½-day visit for your loved one. The trial visit is a great time to assess how Oxnard Family Circle fits you and your loved one.

What makes Adult Day Health Care better than respite care at home?

Oxnard Family Circle is licensed with the state and has a VA contract unique to all other Adult Day Health Care Centers in Ventura County. We are recognized as the ADHC with the largest number of veterans utilizing the ADHC services. Oxnard Family Circle can provide complete comprehensive care with a medical component that has the ability to  quickly address any medical need that may come up. In addition, we also provide  entertainment, socialization with their peers, therapeutic activities to  promote memory and help delay cognitive loss. We provide transportation for local doctors’ appointments and to and from the center.

Is transportation available?

Yes! We have twelve handicap-accessible vans complete with wheelchair-accessible lifts. Our vans provide transportation to and from the center for multiple routes serving the entire Ventura County area.

Are the times for pick up and drop off flexible?

We can make arrangements to accommodate your schedule. Our buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts to ensure the safest and most comfortable transportation for your loved one.

My loved one requires insulin shots during the week and has to be on a diabetic diet. Can you accommodate this?

Yes, we have RN’s and LVN’s that are available to provide any doctor-ordered medical need required. We also have a dietician on-site to  approve meal plans to meet the needs of our diabetic clients.

My spouse has Dementia and cannot be left at home alone. How can your program help me?

We can ensure that he is picked up in the morning and taken home safely by our specially trained drivers. Drivers can also provide assistance with transfers in the home if needed. Our unique Memory Care Unit provide a secure, therapeutic environment to meet your loved ones needs during the day and our social workers can assist you in accessing the available community resources to help you at night and weekends.

My parent has Alzheimer’s and is not managing well at home, but I live in another state. How can your program help me?

Our social workers will work closely with you, your parent’s primary doctor and your loved one to ensure that your loved one is safe and their needs are met. If your  loved one needs assistance with medication at home or another place to live our social workers are available to help you every step of the way.

I have to work full time and I cannot provide care for my loved one during the day, but I do not want to place them in a facility. How can your services help me?

We  provide transportation to and from the center and can make arrangements to be flexible for your schedule. Your loved one will have two home-cooked meals a day at our center and will have socialization opportunities, entertainment, medication provided, and assistance with showering, toileting or feeding if necessary.

My mother is not getting much stimulation at home and tends to wander around. I have to work full time and worry about her constantly because I cannot take care of her during the day . How can Oxnard Family Circle help me?

We provide a safe and secure environment that will be mentally, physically and socially stimulating for your mother. Our center is spacious and allows your loved one to walk around freely while still being under supervision of social workers and program aids. Medication can be distributed by our registered nurses.

My husband gives me the hardest time with showers. I have had assistance at home with bathing but he continues to refuse to take a shower. How can Oxnard Family Circle help?

We have specially trained staff who can ensure your loved one gets the proper hygiene assistance with our handicap accessible showers. We are able to provide showers on a daily basis if needed. We also offer assistance in feeding and toileting as well.

My dad needs to have physical therapy but the Home Health Care said my insurance will only cover for a few weeks. Do you provide physical therapy at Oxnard Family Circle?

Yes, we have physical and occupational  therapy as well as a large rehabilitation gym at Oxnard Family Circle. We work with all doctors’ orders and ensure that we follow the same recommended treatment plan your doctor ordered. Your loved one can come to Oxnard Family Circle even if you are currently getting Home Health Care at home.

If my father needs assistance while going to the bathroom can Oxnard Family Circle help?

We have attendants in both our male and female bathrooms to help with any bathroom need. Our staff will also help those who may need reminders.

My mother had a stroke and needs speech therapy. Does Oxnard Family Circle provide speech therapy and do they provide altered diets for those who have swallowing problems?

Oxnard Family Circle has a speech therapist two times a week to help those who have speech deficits or problems with swallowing. We also offer different textured diets for those who are at  risk for choking.

My father has good memory but needs help physically. He has had multiple falls and cannot be home alone. Does Oxnard Family Circle provide programs for him?

We have a Physical Therapist at our center 5 days a week who will assess your father’s condition by developing a care plan that will address his multiple falls. If  he needs any adaptive equipment the therapist will make a recommendation. Our social workers can assist you in obtaining the correct equipment by utilizing your insurance or available community resources.

What days are you open and what holidays are you closed for?

Our program hours run typically from 8-2pm with accommodations to those times as needed Monday  through Friday.  We are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and  Fourth of July if they fall on a week day.
