Farm Field Trip Shows That Animals Have ‘The Healing Touch’

Recently at Oxnard Family Circle, participants of the Adult Day Program had the opportunity to go to the McGraph Family Farm in Camarillo. The field trip was held by Joy Williams, a social worker at Oxnard Family Circle ADHC.

The participants saw geese and ducks, and had the opportunity to feed sheep, goats, rabbits, and a baby calf. The group also visited the local farmer’s market, and Joy bought strawberries for everyone to share.

“Being outside with animals is an exciting experience for most adult day program participants. I believe that animals have a ‘healing touch’ that is hard to find elsewhere,” -Joy Williams, social worker at Oxnard Family Circle ADHC.
