At Oxnard Family Circle, we realize that caregiving is a full time job. We are happy to provide respite care during our usual hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.) however, sometimes caregivers need more assistance.
Many caregivers have additional jobs other than caregiving, or have families and outside matters to attend to. With the holiday season approaching, the stresses of planning and shopping are becoming more and more prevalent. We understand that you may feel torn between managing other aspects of your life and caregiving, because so many caregivers feel guilty or worried about leaving their loved ones at home alone.
We care about providing the best senior care for your loved one as much as you do. We also acknowledge that caregiver respite is just as important as senior care.
For this reason, Oxnard Family Circle is offering additional respite care on weekday afternoons and the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. Your loved one can receive care from our center until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Saturday respite includes stimulating activities and lunch as well as respite for caregivers.
Many caregivers have expressed their sincere gratitude for additional respite time. Wife of participant Michael J. was happy because she could drop off her husband and attend to errands and other aspects of her daily life while knowing that her husband was safe and content. Another caregiver said that having somewhere to take her loved one was a “life saver”; her loved one required constant attention and went everywhere that she went. She insisted that “every hour of respite care counts”.
Oxnard Family Circle provides respite care for the low cost of 79.00 per day and helps ensure that your loved one is well taken care of during the day while you are at home or at work. Caregivers can attend to their daily lives with the comfort of knowing that their loved one will be taken to Oxnard Family Circle in the morning and brought back home afternoon, will receive two meals a day, stimulation, entertainment, nursing care, exercise and socialization. Oxnard Family Circle has services including assistance with showering, assistance with feeding, and physical and occupational therapy to help your loved one stay healthy and out of a nursing home. Oxnard Family Circle also offers individual or group counseling and caregiver support groups twice a month to help caregivers join together and share their experiences with each other to become stronger individuals overall. Every second Saturday of the month we have an event called Garden of Memories Cafe for individuals with mild to mid stages of memory loss and their caregivers. This gives friends and family members a chance to socialize, participate in activities and access resources that will help provide care beyond our center.
Please keep in mind that additional senior care is available for your loved one at Oxnard Family Circle. We are dedicated to treating everyone who walks through our doors like family and providing the best care possible.
