The Music and Memory program at Oxnard Family Circle Adult Day Health Care has launched!
Here at Oxnard Family Circle we welcomed Any Tubman, who is a most wonderful and passionate music therapist, to share his knowledge of the effect of music therapy for the forming and re-building of neural-nets, stimulating memory and training us to work with those, who suffer from memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of Dementia. The staff at Oxnard Family Circle is captivated by the hard science behind music therapy, which suggests that cognition, recall, even the potential for the forming of new memories can all be possible for those who have seen decline in these areas. We are so excited seeing our participants who have been singing, moving and shaking along with the leaders of these Music and Memory groups and are already seeing noticeable changes in mood and responsiveness due to the therapeutic nature of the music. Please keep visiting our blog posts on Music and Memory to follow our reports on the effect of the technological advancements in Music Therapy that create new promise in myriad ways that can transform our lives and even the more affected population of those living with varied forms of dementia.
