What could be better than nice weather, the fresh air, good friends and a picnic right at the Channel Islands Visitor’s Center? Yesterday our Veterans took a break from all the goings on at Oxnard Family Circle in order to enjoy time with fellow comrades, the beautiful scenery on the water, as well as “some good eats”. With them as she is on many occasions, was one of our kind, self-less and adventurous Social Workers that frequently comes up with and joins in on the Veterans outings. Despite the weather being rather overcast, the boys and girls had a blast chowing down, cracking jokes, and striking their best pose by the boats. Seldom is there a dull moment with this voracious group of Veterans. The fun always seems to find and follow them. Much like the giant lurking Gull in the picture below, but those of avian matters were not the only wildlife to be seen. As if they needed any entertainment when they are so good at being the life of the party themselves; in the picture below you can spot the sea otter that could not figure out which boat he was trying to board!
