We are so proud of our Veterans at Oxnard Family Circle, as with the service they have provided. A class of youngsters at Vikings Elementary was lucky enough to have the generational gap closed a little more by a visit for arts, crafts and some one-on-one time with our heroes of previous wars. The children slowly made their way to the tables to greet the servicemen they had mostly only heard so much about. Maybe both a bit anxious at first but not before long, it was hard to tell which generation was having more fun. A good time was certainly had by all, but it was not long before they had to say their good byes, Veterans feeling the sense of accomplishment coming from working with children, and the children with a sense of inter-generational awe from the chance they got to work with the Veterans we are able and honored to host.
